8 hours of saturday night

Well Friday was a busy day for us. We had a million and one events to get to (which you would have known about if you checked out the event calendar, DUH) and the first stop was the annual Etsy craft meetup party. I’ve been to the etsy party before but it was a few years back when it was hosted by Sew Crafty (now closed). This year it was hosted at Roundtable Goods, a store on 19th near Shade.

Here I am showing off my gams. Dena got me those glasses in London because I’ve been wanting them forever. Here’s my number 1 style tip: wear a blazer. Just kidding don’t follow that style tip because it’s my look. BYE.

Here’s Dena wearing her clogs she got in London and a kooky hawaiin shirt that she did not get in Hawaii but she has been there so that’s pretty cool BYE.

I just now asked Dena (because we’re sitting next to each other – NEVER APART) “what face are you making in this picture?” and she said “UGH it’s the only good picture you took you take such bad pictures.” Whatever haters.

DENA NOTE: TRUE FACT, I AM THE “PHOTOGRAPHER” IN OUR FRIENDSHIP. I HAVE TO BEG MAK TO TAKE PICTURES OF ME – OTHERWISE THE WHOLE BLOG WOULD BE WRITTEN BY ME WITH PICTURES OF HER.

Here’s the craft spread of things we had to work with!

We were making greeting cards so I tried to make one for my mom. Unfortunately i seemed to be having a craft block day because my cards looked more like something a 5 year old would make.

Here’s the cards we made PLUS the neato 10% off coupon we got from Roundtable Goods.

NEXT STOP: Lawndale, to see an art opening and check out the new grafitti on the side of the building. It was a pretty okay opening but the best part was seeing friends and talking about all the stuff to do later.

Exhibit A: see Dena and I DO know other people besides ourself. I look pretty peaky in this photo.

as for the rest of the night. we hung out at lawndale for a while – but the drinks were NOT free so then we left. from there we swung by miller outdoor theatre for an Eagles’s cover band – DENA”S FAVORITE. we once had an old friend (you have a mustache and just interned as a news caster – you know who you are) who told us that The Eagles are lame and have like no good songs. we’ll excuse me sir but the eagles are DA BEST and have dozens of good songs. we got in trouble for dancing in the asiles at the show, so we had to station ourselves off to the side – we were great entertainment for all who saw us.

from there we went to the continental club for Buxton’s: the talking heads. we met some old friends + co op friends and jammed out to songs like “burning down the house”. then it got really hot and way WAY crowded so we left.

last party of the night was a warehouse birthday party – post soon to come. WOW – just now realizing how much we did that saturday night. welp, thats what happens when you have lots of friends and love going out and live in the best city ever WELOVE HOUSTON.
