on going events this week:

  • most of the weird // cool art things this week are part of the “counter current festival” . don’t know about it, but it pretty much sounds like the most avant-garde but neat-o thing.
  • counter current festival workshops at blaffer gallery
  • japan festival . hermann park . saturday // sunday 10am . FREE (makenzie, do you have any “cosplay” stuff maybe like your crazy tights and pink wig, if you enter and win the contest you win free airfare to japan!)
  • houston food not bombs . downtown public library . monday 8pm // wednesday 8pm // friday 8pm // sunday 7pm . FREE
  • i love you, you’re perfect, now change (a play) . music box theatre . $35+ (rachel, it’s the play you were in one time, so i thought of you!)
  • [the invisible city] “location-based-storytelling” . april 9 – 13 . all around town . FREE . (don’t really understand this, but it’s described as a real life “chose your own adventure gamebook” kind of thing. it involves GPS and has secret locations. might be cool.)
  • public art installation “vein of sky” . hermann park . april 9 – 13 . FREE
