camp creek
i spent last weekend at a lake house. it there was no internet, no tv (actually i take that back – we did watch Friends on VHS on night), and lots of fresh air. the cabin belongs to rachel, one of my best friends since middle school, and i honestly don’t think i’ve been there since i was thirteen or fourteen. it was the perfect way to spend my last few days of summer vacation. each day i had ice cream for breakfast, read early 2000s magazines, watercolored pine trees in my art journal, and floated in the lake with old and new friends – until the thought of hundreds of catfish, perch, and alligator gar swimming inches under my toes started to freak me out – then i would just take a nap.
