as you may have seen on last weeks calendar of houston events saturday may 26 was a freakin jam packed with goings on in the area. i met up with my old college friend Alex  and we set off to explore. first up Houston Re-Market. Re-market is a monthly parking-lot-held get together that fosters responsible consumerism. it’s packed with a swap (aka FREE STUFF) corner, homemade crafts, trinkets, and friendly faces. if you’ve never stopped by it’s worth your time for sure.

i ended up finding this rad prairie-girl long elastic waste-banned skirt (i’m going to wear it later this week so you’ll get to see it)

here’s the cute couple that run both Grenni Recycling and Houston Re-Market. i see them EVERYWHERE.

up next “empty bowls” at the houston center for contemporary craft. this 8th annual fundraiser for the houston food bank is held each year at HCCC and makes for a great opportunity to see what the craft center has to offer.

for a $25 donation to the food bank, one gets: a local hand made and donated bowl and a cup of soup from whole foods. the pre-school my mom works at made a rag-rug bowl. i told her i’d stop by and check it out. (it was pretty homely looking, but i liked it)

we ended up scoring some free bule bell, listening to a cute boy band duo, and taking a photo booth picture.
