autonomous puppet show at the DT house

2012 June 26

anyone in houston seen this bus around town? (i only ask because matt from the rosalie haus said he saw it driving down the road the other night) well if you’ve frequented the down together house or houston food not bombs this past week, chances are you have too. it’s a hotel room on wheels that belongs to a traveling group of rad FNB-puppeteers (autonomous playhouse) from flordia that have stopped in houston on their way to taos, new mexico.

as a little treat they put on a show for any and everyone in the down together living room last night before monday night FNB. and wow was it entertaining !

they touched on issues such as: GMOs, the prison system, alcohol in the media, border control, all-talk-and-no-action-anarchists and all in a tongue and cheek sorta way. the show was complete with a variety of different puppet voices and musical numbers. my face throughout the show was either: “oh my gawd YES” or “whaaaaat hahahaha” or “get out thats so freakin cool”. i’m passionate about many of the same issues and its refreshing to be “recharged” with positive energy – just to be reminded that there are so many other like-minded hip people out there. thanks autonomous playhouse !!!

i was accompanied by 1/3 of the rosalie haus gang and welcomed with vegan dinner from the dt house.

we then split ways, only to regroup 2 hours later for the Continuum performance art spectacular at notsuoHs. for anyone who missed the show, or anyone who was there and wants to see if their picture made the PanchoandlLeftey blog post cut – i’ll by publishing a post sometime today.
