Houston Zine Fest!
Houston Zine Fest was this weekend and YOURS TRULY had a table. The funnest thing about zine fest was getting to sit at my table and having new and old friends come by and look at my work. Some folks even toughed it out and sat with me and kept me company during the dragging times when people didn’t come by. You can read more about Zine Fest on their website and you can also read interviews with people who tabled.
Zine Fest was held at Super Happy Fun Land, which is a place I kind of used to be afraid of, namely because they had a lot of sofas and I don’t like to sit on strange sofas because I am afraid I will catch something from them. I like it a little better now. Here’s a picture of me at my table. Aren’t I so cute?? I got there really early to start setting up and it was pretty chaotic when I first got there. I mean, not bad chaotic, I just didn’t know what was happening which makes me nervous.
Here’s a photo of a selction of my zines and some cookies and business cards. The cookies were a big hit with the kids at the Zine Fest. I also had to borrow and buy some candles and some oil cloth table cloth to make my spot super appealing. Not to be dramatic, but my table was pretty dang cute if I do say so myself.
The first musical act was Dena’s future house mate, Evan. She did a really good job. She also passed out Kazoos which were very cute except for SOMEONE who sat at my table for a while kept playing it and playing it and playing it.
From Left to Right: Blake Jones at his table next to mine, which was nice having him there for company, Dena manning my booth and being goofy, Scott just sitting being rad. Unfortunately, Scott broke my squishy brain later in the evening which I’m little mad about still BUTTTTTT I won’t bring that up!!
Here’s some kids checking out my work. Hey kids! Buy some zines!
Here’s picture of Peter Lee and Matt and Glen representing at the East Side + Peter Lee table. Way cool.
Here’s Tony and Mari and David hanging out by my table…glad my little spot could be such a happenin’ meet up place!
Thanks to everyone who came out and visited me and bought art and did trades and hung out etc. oh and here is dena and tony lookin cute and lookin at trains.
Crud, I totally missed y’all.
well, hopefully this post does it justice
