felt crafts: houston astrodome pillow
during the fall 2013 popshop houston show – i was commissioned by james glassman, of The Houstorian, to make an astrodome pillow. (know about that website, you should!) getting this “ask” was pretty much the most exciting thing to happen to me and my crafts. (well, that and the fact that i sold out of every texas coaster and astrodome christmas ornament at that fair and made about 5x the profit i was expecting) point is, i had no idea what i was getting myself into, and with my costa rica trip right around the corner i had a whole lot of work sewing to do. i just finally finished the pillow a few weeks ago. we were both extremely satisfied with the result – so much so that it was pretty hard to part with it.
i’m currently expanding my selection of felt crafts: texas’ // astrodomes // lone star bottles to include: loop 610’s and local highway shields. so, if you’re needing a little felt cute thing of your own (or one as a present for a friend of something) put the next popshop (houston) america event on your calendar. i’ll be there, and hopefully with more texas shaped gingersnap cookies to share!
if any other houston-lovers are interested in commissioning a local-inspired-felt-craft-piece, send me an email at panchoandleftey (at) gmail (dot) com.
